CRT Must Include Conservative Viewpoints

Otherwise it Should Not Be Imposed on our Children

January 19, 2024

Ms. Sophia Carenzo’s title of her article on Critical Race Theory (CRT) “A Truthful Curriculum Should Not Be Controversial,” hits the nail of the head. What she fails to realize is that CRT as it is now taught is not truthful but infused with liberal bias.

First some background. CRT is a forty-year-old academic discipline whose main thesis according to Education Week is:

“…race is a social construct, and that racism is not merely the product of individual bias or prejudice, but also something embedded in legal systems and policies.”

CRT’s classroom syllabi typically reinforce this by selectively sighting egregious examples of racism while educating students about civil rights heroes. If college and graduate students want to take this course, that’s fine. But CRT is infiltrating our grade schools and high schools, not as an option, but as a requirement.

For example, CRT teaches students about the brutal lynchings carried out in the South in the late 1800s, attributing this quite accurately to white racism. But the same class will not explain why this happened: gun control.

When Klansman started terrorizing the homes of Black families, Black men did what any red-blooded American would do. They exercised their Second Amendment rights, got their guns, and blew these racist thugs away. The racist white political power structure (all Democrats incidentally) responded by requiring gun permits, confiscating the guns of Blacks and leaving them powerless to by lynched and brutalized. This policy remained in place well into the twentieth century so that even when Martin Luther King’s house was firebombed, he was denied a gun permit to protect himself and his family.

But do CRT students learn this? No way because gun control is one of the backbones of liberalism.

Students of CRT will never hear of Dr. Mildred Jefferson, the first Black woman to graduate from Harvard Medical School and who distinguished herself by having the lowest surgical complication rate during her residency.

Why?

Because Dr. Jefferson is the Godmother of the pro-life movement, giving thousands of speeches against abortion while predicting that abortion rates would be much higher in Blacks.

She was right of course. Blacks represent 14 % of the population but 37% of abortions are performed on Blacks. There have been 63,000,000 abortions performed since abortion was legalized in 1973. If the Black abortion rate was the same as the white abortion rate, there would be over 14 million more Blacks alive in the United States.

Nonetheless, CRT ignores Dr. Jefferson’s prediction while positing that racist Republicans engage in voter suppression with such nefarious plans such as Voter ID. But the disproportionate killing of unborn Black babies and the subsequent lack of millions of Black voters is never mentioned because abortion rights are another backbone of liberalism.

Which leads to another individual ignored in the CRT curriculum – the brilliant Black Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas. Justice Thomas has been fearless in standing up the racist eugenics’ movement pioneered by Planned Parent founder Margaret Sanger writing:

“Eight decades after Sanger’s “Negro Project,” abortion in the United States is also marked by a considerable racial disparity. The reported nationwide abortion ratio—the number of abortions per 1,000 live births—among black women is nearly 3.5 times the ratio for white women.”

Yet proponents of CRT look the other way at the attacks on Justice Thomas by the white liberal journalistic bastion ProPublica. This organization has accused Justice Thomas of atrocious ethical violations such as going on fishing trips with billionaires while ignoring the $3.7 million windfall of Justice Sotomayor by using her staff to sell her children’s books. Nor will they learn about Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s failure to disclose her husband’s income as a malpractice lawyer consultant.

Nor will CRT students ever hear that the $10,000,000 seed money to find ProPublica was provided by Herbert Sandler, the inventor of the balloon mortgage in which unsuspecting home owners were suckered into a low interest rate that balloons at a latter time resulting in a rapid rise in payments the homeowner can’t afford.

This type of mortgage disproportionately devastated the Black community causing a massive number of foreclosures and destroying their neighborhoods. Of course, the savvy Sandler sold these mortgages to Wachovia Bank for $2.3 billion. A few years later, Wachovia went belly up and the taxpayers got the bill.

When the teachers of CRT include the above information in their curriculum, then it may be viewed fairly by all parties. If they do not wish to do so – fine. But then it should not be forced down the throats of our children. Keep it as an academic theory where it belongs.
